what is reiki and how does it work?
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a holistic healing practice where a practitioner channels universal life force energy through their hands to promote relaxation, balance, and well-being in the recipient.
It is based on the belief that this life force energy, also known as "ki" or "qi," flows through all living beings and plays a crucial role in their physical, emotional, and spiritual health. During a Reiki session, the practitioner places their hands gently on or just above the recipient's body, allowing the energy to flow and address imbalances or blockages that may be causing discomfort or illness. The aim of Reiki is to support the body's natural healing processes and encourage a sense of harmony and vitality.
How Does Reiki Work?
Reiki practioners receive an attunement where they receive special teachings and energetic adjustments from experienced Reiki Masters to open their connection to the universal life force energy, enabling them to channel it. This energy flows through the hands and with a series of hand placements, the focus is on balancing the recipient's energy centers, known as "chakras."
Each chakra is associated with specific physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects. Blocked or overactive chakras may cause disharmony and lead to physical or emotional discomfort. Through Reiki, healing energy is directed to the affected parts of the recipient's energy field, targeting the source of discomfort and releasing anxiety, fear, emotional trauma, and other blocks.
